Magna is a small expedition house focused on overland journeys with off-road vehicles across Croatia, the wider region, the Caucasus and Central Asia.

We do not build catalogues. We build routes.

Most of our expeditions are developed in-house — from the first line on the map to the last night in the field.
Where we do not travel ourselves, our trusted local partners do.

In every country, we work with people — not hotel and campground chains.
That is why we are not tourists. That is why we are guests.

Our routes move beyond crowds, beyond postcard asphalt and beyond familiar narratives.
Off-road is our tool — not our destination.
We travel by 4x4 to reach places that cannot be reached otherwise.

All journeys marked as Expedition carry an exploratory character.
Routes are partially shaped in the field.
Flexibility is not a compromise — it is part of the way.

Additional Services

Beyond expeditions, we provide what others cannot:

– off-road driver training
– logistics and transport into remote terrain
– field support for film, research and special productions
– transport of people and equipment beyond paved roads

If a project demands terrain — we know how to deliver it.

THE ORIGIN OF THE WAY

Part of my childhood was spent in the Swiss Alps.
The mountains shaped me before I could explain why.

Later, life led me back to Croatia — until war brought me into the field again.
On Mount Velebit I first encountered off-road vehicles.
There, a circle closed.

Since then, although I live in Zagreb, I have never truly left the mountains.

The 1990s were spent at the front and on the roads of the former Soviet Union — through Siberia, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Those roads were not tourism. They were a school of space.

In the late 1990s I turned to graphic design, but every free weekend drew me back into the field.
In February 2019, I posted publicly:
“I’m heading out. Who’s coming?”

Almost 150 people responded.

That was the moment it became clear — this was no hobby.

In the years that followed, I guided expeditions for German overland operators across Croatian mountain routes.
I resigned at the wrong time. The pandemic closed the world.

But the way does not close.

At the end of 2024, I founded Magna.

Not as an agency. But as a house of the way.
